The Huth Scholarship
Recognizing, celebrating and rewarding young people who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to teaching, technology and volunteerism involving the elderly.
In memory of the late Dr. John Huth, and in support of the Foundation's mission of encouraging teaching, technology, and volunteerism involving the elderly, The Huth Scholarship was created in 2010.
Applicants for The Huth Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- They must be 2023 graduates of a private or public High School in the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County or Arlington County, Virginia, or home-schooled in those jurisdictions
- Have demonstrated a commitment to significant volunteer activities, which must have included programs or volunteer efforts that included seniors or aging populations. While admirable, volunteer activities involving non-senior populations will not be considered.
The Huth Scholarship schedule for 2023 is as follows:
- June 15 – Scholarship applications are due to The Huth Foundation (instructions can be found on the application)
- July 1 – Scholarship recipient (s) will be selected
- July 15 – Monetary award(s) in the amount of $1,000 will be provided to the recipient(s)
